The number of diabetics in the UK now over 4 million.
Latest estimates suggest there may be more than 4 million people in the UK with diabetes.

Researchers analysed GP patient data for 2014-15 and found that 3.5 million people have been diagnosed with diabetes - an increase of 119,965 on the previous year, and an increase of 65% on the previous decade.

In 2005 there were just over 2 million people diagnosed with diabetes.

There are also thought to be 549,000 people in the UK who have diabetes but have not been diagnosed with the condition.
