A study published here in Diabetes Care has linked an increased risk of Diabetes with potato consumption, especially chips.
A study published here in Diabetes Care has linked an increased risk of Diabetes with potato consumption, especially chips. This is because potatoes, unlike other vegetables, are mainly starch and like other carbohydrates its consumption increases the risk of diabetes, especially if it is cooked and eaten hot.

The best test for diabetes is an HbA1c, this looks at the level of haemoglobin in the blood that has sugars bound to it. This reflects a raised glucose levels in the blood.
